ESSAY- Miracle for America…Pres. Donald J. Trump
(Link to Nov. 8, 2017 radio show discussing the spiritual implications/progress of Pres. Trump’s first year at end of essay.)
I believe in God, our Heavenly Father…Jesus His Son…and the presence of the Holy Spirit.
It is the good works of a man which impress me, not mere words which many Christians espouse loudly while void of actions which would actually help people. President Trump is a fine example of a righteous man, endeavoring to do what is right, one whom I believe will be blessed by God for his service to this nation, and one whom true spiritual Christians will do all they can to help achieve his vision for our America. President Trump is one of the most morally qualified men who has ever held the office…he possesses qualities of leadership and goodness few have today.
I do not want a President who speaks like a theologian, telling me of sin and repentance, nor one who has lived the life of a vocal evangelizing Christian. I do not want a man as President who speaks piously, who behaves in unnatural ways as if he’s some sort of modern eunuch, and certainly not one who lambast me with religiosity. I don’t care what church if any he attends. And I sure don’t want the man to speak and act prudishly or self-righteously like so many holier-than-thou professing Christians behave.
I seek someone who simply wants to do what is right as much as he can discern, a believer in God, who keeps his spirituality relatively private, allowing glimpses of it through how he leads. A man any honest individual can relate to because he is not a politician. His works over many years are the proof I looked for, and anyone who objectively has studied this man’s life would have to come to the same conclusion I have, for “…every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit,” and Donald Trump’s life has brought forth much good fruit. (Matthew 7:17, KJV)
I do not want a man as president who speaks of goodness, I want a man who tries to accomplish it. (Donald J. Trump’s works, and there were good works of generosity long before becoming president, speak to a spiritual understanding greater than those with religious words. As is written, “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone,” and “Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only,” (James 2:17 and 24, KJV).
Whatever your religious, spiritual or ethical beliefs, regardless of your political affiliation, if you identify as part of the American family, and endeavor to live a loving life, you realize as different as we are, we still hold identical core desires for our country, our family, and ourselves. These interests are best served by having a forthright man who seeks to do what he feels is right as president. Situations, issues and matters will come and go, and like us, he is an individual who will have to make difficult decisions and simultaneously learn as he does so. It’s not whether you will always agree with him, it is whether you trust him, and I trust him. Honest individuals will not judge such a man, rather they much prefer this approach over the politicians who have polluted our country with their self serving agendas. By any measure of leadership or virtue, he far exceeds those who held recently this office before him from either political party.
After about 30 years of being aware and learning from Donald Trump’s example, and now including the past 10 months of his presidency, I trust his judgement, perceptions, conscience. He knows how to lead: seek out information, make decisions. He appears always willing to passionately express the truth as he perceives it, regardless of those who will vehemently attack him for it, a sign he is true to himself and likewise to the American people. A man who may rarely say he is sorry, saving an apology for when he really feels he has something he regrets, thus making any expression of sorrow meaningful and significant. A man willing to change his mind if insightful facts and circumstances show him otherwise. A man who values loyalty. A man who prefers to introspectively examine himself, preventing the making of most mistakes, and if he errs he simply seeks to correct it. He is not a man who tells you what you want to hear, he tells you, in the moment, his honest assessment and opinion. This is what I discern from watching President Trump’s words and works over the years…a good man, simply trying to do what he feels is right, guided by his moral compass.
Americans overwhelmingly appreciate the sincerity, we sense in President Trump; it is this millions responded to during his campaign. He is an American like us, living his working life as a businessman, caring for his family, simply doing the best he can and along the way he has blessed many with jobs, opportunity, and by example. I, for one, learned much from his books which influenced my life, and long before he showed aspiration to seek office, I hoped one day he would. This is because our nation has long needed a real man, a critical thinker, a man who says it as he sees it, who is intelligent and an achiever, one who identifies what he wants and goes after it. A strong man. Not a weakling who is swayed with the modern political correctness nonsense so many males adopt. Whether you agree with him on most things or not, you will always know where he stands. He is honest and doesn’t mince words. He is man on his path, learning and evolving as any truth seeker does, who has chosen to share his talent through service to America in a most extraordinary way.
We each have different God-given gifts and talents, we each have weaknesses. The measure of a man is not of perfection for all are fallible, it is rather a scale of humanity: are we following our highest conscience in each moment? Are we loving? And most importantly, are we evincing the love we claim in choosing to serve our fellow man? On all points, President Trump’s life shows he has and is continuing to spiritually evolve. He did not have to leave his fine business and personal life and run for the presidency. There is no worldly measurable benefit for him compared to the stress in volunteering himself into the political arena, though there is immense benefit to Americans now and likely for generations to come. This courageous gift of service he provides to our nation.
We Americans were severely oppressed, so much so I never believed this nation could again get on a better path through electoral politics. I thought the swamp of Washington DC to be so spiritually corrupt, that perhaps the righteous should avoid it. President Trump has shown me a good man can still make a difference, that each of us must. “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven,” (Matthew 5:16, KJV).
Though our nation suffered from decades of darkness, our hope lay not in this world, but in God, thus righteousness prevailed on November 8, 2016, and Scripture was confirmed, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint,” Isaiah 40:31, KJV. It took one good man choosing to serve and millions of Americans choosing to support him.
Now, we, like President Trump, must never despair, we must maintain strength. We must persevere, despite the works of those in darkness who love not truth but steadfastly cling to their wickedness, enraged to see goodness sought again in America, for the very vitriol with which we see such spiritually insane people attack President Trump is in itself evidence of his vision for America being in the light of love, the light of God.
Make no mistake about it, this is spiritual warfare. Never in the history of the United States has there been such vitriolic attacks upon a president. It is truly good versus evil.
The good in President Trump enrages those who have chosen to follow the father of all lies. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places,” (Ephesians 6:12, KJV).
Let us also be ever mindful of the Scriptures’ truth when he and we are vociferously attacked. You, who accurately view this for the spiritual warfare it is, must remember that,”Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked,” (Ephesians 6:16, KJV). This indicates we must stand firm, as was done during the election, with the one man who is leading this country on a better path. Had it not been for Donald Trump’s following his heart to seek the office of presidency, you know the darkness this country would have descended to. The time was now for a righteous man to challenge decades of American descent into such darkness before it was too late.
His decision to serve his fellow Americans is being met with all manner of sick attacks from the self-righteous weaklings angrily disturbed to see their goal of subverting America suddenly halted. No more are they able to wantonly continue degrading this country to their twisted communistic goal. Trying to pose as if they have worthy values, their hateful behavior shows the evil from which it emanates, their rage, violence, and all manner of spiritual darkness is a direct response to seeing righteousness taking hold once again in the country. So filled with hatred, they utter nonsense against the president no matter what he does. There is no critical thinking going on in such people, they will always attack without thought, for their enemy is anyone who is good.
Despite so many judgmental attacks, he evinces a moral leadership none of them do: He states the truth millions of Americans feel and have become afraid to say. He says it like he sees it. He also remains strong in his statements on any matter, never capitulating to the liberal agenda which few in politics have the courage to reject. That is moral leadership beyond any of those who would cast judgment upon him. He is also trying in his capacity to put a stop to the attack on the Christian values and religious beliefs held by many in this country. It is not a theological leader or pastor we sought when we elected him, it was a moral leader. As such, he is excelling.
An emotionally strong man, President Trump is willing to express his righteous indignation when confronted by those who wickedly plot against or seek to obstruct the good for America he is trying to accomplish. He is strong when dealing with evil in the world, and unafraid to identify it for what it is.
Righteous indignation is a spiritual strength (rarely recognized in this society where weakness and its passivity has unfortunately claimed the minds and hearts of so many men). A righteous man will rise against, identify and confront those who seek to defile what is just and pure. (Consider Jesus’ as an example for all of us, it was righteous indignation he expressed “when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables,” (John 2:15, KJV).
His strength is as we all must be. Strength is necessary in spiritual warfare. Weakness is the characteristic which permitted the sad state this nation had entered, a sickness pervading society where many males have become pathetic excuses of men, where many women have become unfeminine to say the least in their behavior, where self defense is scorned, where spiritually insane political correctness rules, and where all matter of perversity is celebrated. You see the sickness in all the ways such people twist his words and deeds, no matter how good, beautiful, and loving they are. Perhaps some are incapable of rational thinking and see only what they want to see and are told to repeat from those they follow, while others appear diabolical in their devious hatred as they tell the liberal herds what to focus on next. No matter the attacks, President Trump day-in and day-out keeps his focus on the one reason he ran for office, to ‘Make America Great Again,’ and in doing so make all of those who love truth, freedom, liberty, personal responsibility, and the American family have a country they can love and embrace again.
The goals of those in spiritual darkness who sought to take America down have been seriously thwarted.
It took a real man to change the path entirely of our nation, and it takes all of us staying on this path with him for our nation.
His election is truly the miracle America needed.
(Note: I’ve found Donald J. Trump’s career fascinating for decades, read his books, and appreciated listening to him. For those of you relatively unfamiliar with him prior to his campaign and presidency, I suggest you obtain some of his books, listen to interviews including on policy he’s given over the years, and search online with terms such as his name and a phrase such as ‘acts of kindness’. Learn more about the man, and you’ll see how his entire life prepared him for this path of service.)
