On The “Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act”
Is this bill bad? Yes. Is President Trump culpable for this bill and its potentially dire consequences to the United States and the world? No.
First, I advise all who do have rejection for what much of this bill enacts to read president Trump’s statement on its signing. This bill was not a result of his ideas or wishes, it was a result of all the spiritually insane ego-driven Congressional members who essentially forced the president to sign their unconstitutional agenda. The agenda of many it appears is not to foster better relations between our nation and Russia (or other nations) if possible, but to do anything within their power (or, in my opinion in this case beyond their constitutionally granted power) to make international tension and problems due to their opposition to the President himself, not caring about what is best for Americans and world peace.
The 98 to 2 Senate vote (and the House of Representative’s 419 to 3 vote) made this bill veto-proof.
Thus, before you join in the popular condemnatory rhetoric against the president on this matter, read his actual thoughts considering the predicament he was placed in, then if you’re rational, put the blame where it belongs: Congress and its obvious majority of business-as-usual disgusting politicians who do not value wisdom, prudence, or the U.S. Constitution.
