I write this for true members of my family, those who believe in love, and as such, seek freedom. Not those who merely profess it, this is for those who place no circumstance life can bring above the truth of love. Those who vow to never compromise their belief in love, regardless of the apparent expedient benefits to themselves compromise might bring. Those who are thoughtful to consider every action of their life to see if it is consistent with their belief in love. To those brothers and sisters I write.
To vote or not to vote. It is a choice between religious or spiritual. A choice between aggression or non-aggression, darkness or light, evil or good.
The pervasive bandwagon of get out the vote hoopla, the “do your part” mentality, is indoctrination to keep a system, based on fear, alive and kicking. Contrary to what the establishment would have you believe, voting is one of the most destructive actions one can take: destroying your own peace, well-being, and spiritual advancement. It is the arena of the spiritually corrupt, supported by millions of well-intentioned though naive and spiritually weak citizens, all believing their quality of life depends on it.
One seeking to evince the spiritual power of love realizes their well-being is not dependent on those who do not believe in love. It is a step of faith you have, or have it not, and your life and the lives of others (even those you may never know of) are affected by this choice.
The error within well-intentioned people is accepting that a system based on aggression, control, and punishment for non-compliance to the dictates of its rulers is one they should try to influence. If fundamentally one seeks freedom, one can not in good conscience validate and defend a system which uses the word “freedom” while infringing upon the freedom of people worldwide. While protecting itself from the “crimes” it commits, the elected bring down punitive measures upon those who do not comply, notwithstanding the fact the vast majority punished by it have done no wrong and expressed no aggression toward another. Voting for any of them validates the entire spiritually corrupt system.
The religious vote, the patriotic/nationalistic vote, the social activists vote, the poor and wealthy, the war-mongering and the peaceful, and all evince utter lack of awareness of the ethical accountability for the actions those they empower do. Fearing the consequences to their circumstances if they do not vote, mindlessly they do the bidding of the parasites ruling this world.
Voting is a validation of a corrupt system the world has made to maintain its coercive power over what should be free individuals. All the evils, be it legalized theft, demagoguery, to murder, that the elected commit are the ethical/moral responsibility of those who cast the votes, and yet millions use their time, money and life energy to catapult mere men into positions of gods, all the while thinking they are doing something good.
The behavior of many religious (be it of a Christian faith or other), ironically, demonstrates worship of the State, not their God. They have actually chosen the religion of the State over whatever other faith or belief system they claim. Simply put, the religious (because they never delve deeper into spirituality, the personal realization of the principles) actually begin to substitute one religion (The State) for the one they accepted which they felt was a path to God. It is clear to whom their allegiance lies, and to whom they look for relief of their many fear-based anxieties. A soul trusting in God does not go to a God-less system to seek solace and assistance. Thus, the majority of the religious, despite their fervent proclamation of God, show who they place their faith in by their complete willful trust in government. (To my Christian brothers and sisters, those who seek the spirituality of Jesus’ teaching, Why A Christian Should Not Vote.)
Likewise, an individual who has spiritually evolved to understand love is the answer in all situations in this life, does not turn around and involve himself in a loveless system.
There is no choosing a right person when the entire structure is wrong. The country is not a private organization to which all willingly consent (like a club); it is a region where diversity reigns, and as such no majority has the ethical/moral/spiritual precept to force all to conform to its will. It is a spiritually unsound premise. I have no illusion or imagination that it will through awareness change (though it may likely collapse), however I do know firsthand the benefit to the individual’s life who chooses to extricate himself from the insanity. Most people seek to have others make decisions for them, they may complain about it, however deep inside they fear freedom. Thus, the majority will always seek to organize a gang to give structure to their lives and simultaneously impose it upon people who do not seek to have others decide how they should live. Its existence, however, does not receive my support, on the contrary, life is good when apart from the spiritually insane herd.
The loving individual supports not the collective. The individual holds a responsibility to his principles of love, if this be the basis upon which he has chosen to live his life. His first and foremost purpose is to evince love, to live the principle he says is his highest guide. It matters not if this belief in love was learned from Jesus, another teacher before Jesus or after, or realized within. If it is of love, it is true. And the believer of love as the way must not compromise his decision by validating a world and its systems all of which are based on love’s antithesis: fear. The truth cannot join with the false, and if it attempts to do so, it ceases to be truth, for the unholy alliance results only in the evils the false seeks to achieve.
The sacred does not bow down to the adulterated.
The reasons you have told yourself to justify voting are rationalizations to allow you to engage in the herd activity, receiving societal approval from whatever herd you value. Seek to stop aggression in the world, be not aggressive. You want the poor helped, help them, feed the hungry, hire those others reject, give to whomever you choose, do not have the middleman (government) legally steal from some to give to others. Seek a community where a certain service is available, provide it, on the scale you can. Proof many vote to fit in is revealed by the popular shaming of non-voters. When, in truth, shame should be upon all who vote, no matter how well intentioned, for it is they who perpetuate the evils befallen.
HOW TO INFLUENCE
Every political issue which you feel strongly of and sincerely seek to share your loving stance with others, must be (to be consistent with love) shared, not forced upon any other. Further, the “choosing between two evils” should be a warning to you, never does love have to compromise. Love stands and rejects supporting any evil. It does not compromise, for the “greater good,” which will never come, for the end never justifies the means, and interestingly enough when the means is evil, despite what you try to imagine being good happening, it will backfire. All of life proves this.
The choice is not to use their system to change the world, it is to let your light shine for all to see, to let those intrigued come to you and what you have to teach and share, never to use their system of force, of coercion to accomplish what you envision. You commit yourself to love not by using and thereby validating all the evils the coercive government does. You evince love as every great teacher of love did, by offering your message in words to those who will hear, and by expressing it in all your behavior, on-on-one, to the people brought into your life. Voting is an act of allying yourself with all the evil government, not only the persons you vote for, perpetrate. It is in itself an act of aggression.
Voting is not a right to be exercised, it is the source of your own slavery to the powers that be. Rights are not granted, rights are your natural ethical possession to do as you will, unhindered by any other, as long as you harm no other. Voting, and its acceptance of the institutional system of choosing your societal prison guards who will dictate what you can or cannot do, is the act of relinquishing your rights as an individual. It is your act of consent to be controlled. Again, the individual issues matter not, for if you truly care about such issues (including those of life and death in the medical fields, healthcare, war and peace, etc.), you would realize the best good comes from a life, your life, devoted to being there in the moment for anyone needing help, and it requires a devotion to those you love, a devotion which necessitates using all your resources to provide for yourself and loved ones, not wasting even a moment of your life or resources you have been blessed with by giving it to oppressors.
Ever wonder why so many do not see the lies of those running for office? It is because they themselves want to be lied to, they live a lie, they feel safe in a comfort zone of others like themselves, mindlessly employing meaningless phrases and activities, giving little effectual goodness to anyone, while feeling good about themselves. It is not a matter of eliminating their ignorance, their hearts do not seek the truth, so no manner of facts affects them. The truth is not in them, nor do they want it to be.
Certainly you will see candidates who are more in-line with your thought processes and values, however this is no way justifies your trying to get them elected in order to make things happen which better favor your view unless you actually do not believe in the power of love, and rather believe you must bow down to the coercive system, play its game by its rules, to obtain its favor and some provisions. Their system is not of love, their words and deeds are not of love, a loving individual (voter or candidate) is seriously mistaken and will suffer greatly to the degree they accept the false premise that therein lies their good. (Look at your own life, the headaches, the arguments, the frustrations, the time you have spent on a meaningless activity in a meaningless world, and with what result? Use your mind, body and heart wisely. be not deceived, and you will suffer no more.) Freedom is not obtained by succumbing to the system around you.
To the degree you value truth, love, you observe this spiritually insane world from a peaceful detachment; having faith your well-being is not reliant upon the frenetic activities of their system. It is not through external love forsaken activities through which you evolve, it is within. You step apart, away, and focus on living your life, using all you have, for your good and for those you seek to bless. Thereby you transform yourself and often help others as they grow.
Detach, step away, and observe the workings of the spiritless in their idle quest for freedom.
Voting is for the weak-minded, the faithless, and the fearful, as well as for those who relish in exerting power over the lives of others. The good intentions of a few, who sincerely believe political activities to be the way to bring their values to the fore, are dangerously misplaced, for in doing so, they work for the opposite, and detract from the effectual good they may otherwise be accomplishing to greater lengths in their own lives. As George Orwell so eloquently and amazingly depicted in 1984, the terminology you most identify with are the diametric opposites when used by those in the system. Thus, all interaction with the system validates it and gives it the very power over you which you say you wish to retain.
The good you believe in is not achieved through mobilized opposition within their system, it is achieved individually outside of their system. Indeed, transformation can occur, and emanates from individuals living their principles, not forcing them upon another, and not in weighing the pros and cons of any given candidate to achieve for them that which they seek. You believe, you live it. You seek not the use of an unloving coercive freedom-killing system. You withdraw from politics, and begin to live far more freely and happily than ever before.
I was once deeply politically involved, feeling I must try to make a difference in an arena where the values I possessed are not valued but only cited as a way to manipulate. I sought to advance freedom using the system, both as an informed voter and at times as a candidate. I was sincere, sincerely wrong. Over the years, I have realized the inconsistency of my spiritual belief and my actions during those years, as I now know there is no political solution to a spiritual problem.
One either has faith in love and its source, or lives a fear-based rationalizing involvement with the spiritually insane.
I seek only to share my personal experience, observation, and awareness with my family, those who place love as their guide in life. Reconsider the spiritual validity or lack thereof of political activities, for your sake, and those you love. For nothing is more detrimental to personal growth and relationships than one distracted and polluted by the world’s nonsense. You can choose again, I did.
To who or what do you give your highest loyalty and trust? Man’s world or the Spirit?
